We leave the day before Thanksgiving and come back the following Sunday. We fly on United, connect in London and continue on Aer Lingus. A very short trip. We will have all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Ireland with a bit of time on Sunday as well.
While we have less than two weeks before we will be in the Emerald Isle and we really haven't done a whole hell of a lot of planning. We did task my mother with making a list of all the things she wants to do -- and creating an itinerary for Dublin, though. She seems excited and nervous -- remember your first trip to Europe? How nervous and excited were you?
We'll be staying one night in the countryside and two nights in Dublin. We need recommendations on things to do - things that we already have on our list:
- Guinness Tour
- Visit the Book of Kells
- Explore the Pub made famous by the Irish Literary Elite
What else should we do in Dublin? If you had just one thing to do there, what would it be? What is one thing that everyone thinks you should do, but you think we should skip it? I find this last question to be very useful. For example, everyone says you have to get a deep dish pizza while in Chicago -- I think those are totally overrated -- skip it.
